Evening 1:  Metz, being only an hour and twenty minute drive down the A6 is a very convenient special evening out. It’s a small but thriving community complete with a beautiful cathedral and many, many, many specialty shops. They also have some good restaurants, a nice coffee shop and a wine shop or two. I enjoyed doing the occasional seafood and steak diner, wine and house specialty aperitif.
